Celebrating Female Leadership With the 2nd Vacation Rental Women’s Summit

In 2019 VRM Intel Magazine launched its first Vacation Rental Women’s Summit, a conference designed specifically to celebrate, educate, and support female-identifying people in the vacation rental industry. This vacation rental management conference is totally unique, offering talks and sessions centered around female leadership in the vacation rental management industry. As Amy Hinote, Founder of VRMIntel, DARM and VRWS Conferences said,

“If you attended the 2019 Women’s Summit, you know that this conference is a judgement-free zone. We begin and end this conference with a spirit of connectivity, acceptance, and encouragement. This allows us to share ideas more freely and address questions that might not otherwise be discussed, and we get to more deeply connect with industry professionals who remain friends and advisers throughout our careers.”

Rented is so excited to be the Platinium sponsor of Summit. Here’s what we love about it, and what we’re especially excited about.

A Judgement-Free Zone

The Vacation Rental Women’s Summit is meant to be inclusive of all vacation rental management experts, regardless of gender expression. The leaders of the conference make connection, acceptance, and encouragement a focal point of every session, every breakout group, and every happy hour. Here, experts come together to share industry knowledge, build connections, and bolster one another up.

Unique Speakers

One of the coolest things about the Vacation Rental Women’s Summit is the speakers. The conference likes to strike a balance between an industry-focused talk and something a bit more inspirational. In 2019, Homeaway CPO Tina Weyand shared the stage with author Elizabeth Gilbert. In 2021, the line-up includes Amber Hurdle, CEO of a talent optimization firm who has worked closely with the hospitality industry, and Emily and Amelia Nagoski, authors of Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle.

Featured on Brené Brown’s podcast, the Nagoski twins show us that women experience burnout differently than men, and they provide a simple, science-based plan to help women minimize stress, manage emotions, and live a more joyful life.

No Vendor Expo Hall

Unlike most vacation rental conferences you’ll attend, this one doesn’t have your typical hall of booths with vendors peddling their services. Instead, sponsors mingle with the crowd, attending sessions and networking. This gives the conference a more relaxed atmosphere, one designed for discussion and inspiration rather than selling.

Sessions Designed for Personal Development

The Vacation Rental Women’s Summit has designed a varied combination of sessions that include your classic panel discussions, alongside work sessions that focus more on ideation and inspiration. You may enjoy sessions about delegating responsibilities, funding, and diversity, alongside sessions on work-life balance, conflict management, and vision boarding. The breakout sessions vary in size as well, giving attendees an opportunity to get to know their peers in a small-group setting or join focus groups on topics that interest them most.

Celebrating Female Leadership in the Vacation Rental Industry

One of the highlights of the conference is an awards ceremony highlighting the female-identifying pioneers of the vacation rental management industry. According to Refosco, “Now more than ever, it is important that we support events that speak to the unique challenges we all face, as well as recognize the many accomplishments of our peers and colleagues.”

We’re going to be highlighting a few of these pioneering women ourselves leading up to the event, be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it. We can’t wait to share their stories with you.

And if you’re coming to the Vacation Rental Women’s Summit this year, make sure to say hi if you see us. Several of our Rented Team will be around and would love to chat with you. There’s still time to register here!
